Hi all, welcome at Peace of Art. Just a little update in between workshops. The last few months Peace of Art has expanded its horizon. Next to the regular workshop Art Journaling, we organized a workshop for young teens (twice) and an Art Journaling session. Both took place at a new location, the workshop space ‘Onder de boom’ (meaning ‘Under the tree’) at Mahaai. A cozy place with a great, creative ambiance, hosted by Manon. Manon and I got to know each other when she participated in a workshop in Pietermaai in September last year. Her daughter loves to art journal too, and within a few days the idea was born to organize a creative get to gather for young teens. A completely different vibe compared to the regular workshops, but a lot of fun none the less! It’s amazing to see how even at that age, so much creativity starts to flow when there is confidence, support and a lot of materials!
The Art Journaling session was with a small group, we were with four ladies. But did we have a great morning! We had a lovely conversation about life and creativity, while in the mean time filling our journal pages each in our own unique way. I am already looking forward to the next one!
What I have experienced while preparing and during these workshops and session, is that art really is such a great powerful tool to connect. If you love art, and you love to create something with your own hands, you already have so much in common. It is a delight to find these people, every time again I organize a workshop. I am really happy with that!
On June 26-2022, there will be a workshop Art Journaling on an other, new location: Kas Shen Binti in Otrobanda, hosted by Vereen. Another great place with a unique atmosphere, to feel right at home. I am looking forward to go there; with the tons of materials and art supplies, with the experience and the joy, with the confidence that I will get to know new, great, positive minded people again!
