Travel Journaling is a wonderful way to prepare for your vacation and it’s the perfect way to capture all adventures, activities and information you want to memorize later. This workshop is both for those who are spending their vacation on our dushi island, and want to create a unique, personal keepsake, and our locals, who want to visualize their next travel abroad.
When you go on a vacation, you will probably take many photos. They end up in your film roll with thousands of others and after a few weeks they probably disappear to the back of your mind… and the memories fade. Travel Journaling is different: because you take some time to record your experiences, by drawing, sketching, collaging and writing, you will capture your memories more profoundly. And while on vacation, you might even be more aware of details, because you will be on the look out for things to add to your journal!
That delicious pastechi you bought on the street, the lady who greeted you kindly, the cute little bird who has already taken off by the time you have grabbed your phone… You can collect all those details, those moments in a Travel Journal. And no, you don’t have to be good at drawing or painting to keep a Travel Journal!
Travel Journaling is a combination of written text, things that you collect before and during your trip (such as tickets, boarding passes, receipts) and visual elements, like sketches and hand lettering.
You can start the Travel Journal while you’re still at home, to prepare for your next trip; think of packing lists, must see places, your intentions. Or you can use the journal just for doing research and planning to realise your dream travel experience.
In the Travel Journaling workshop, you will have a lot of materials at your disposal: dozens of beautiful magazines, postcards, stamps, road maps and much more. You will receive tips and tricks, several examples and plenty of time to fill your own pages with your activities, your wish list, your intentions, your packing list and everything else related to your trip. There’s plenty of material of Curaçao, for those who are here on our dushi island for their vacation, but also many other countries of the world, in case you want to prepare for your next travel!
